The Toftness system was developed by I.N.Toftness D.C.,PhC., and is a nuerological means of analysis for the detecting spinal subluxations and nuerological imbalances. Dr. Toftness noticed that a resistance was encountered whenever he passed his hands over the area of the spine where there were problems. He subsequently developed an instrument called a TRD or Toftness Radiation Detector that amplified these resistances back to the doctor. Using the instrument the doctor can find spinal restrictions and nuerological imbalances. The following procedure makes the the phenomenon more observable. A light force is applied in various directions to an offending vertebra, and when the proper direction is determined, a complete release of the interference is effected, and the resistance disappears.
Philosophy: The Toftness system is a neurological means of analysis. The theory states that the ends of the spine control nerve transmission and that it is the stretch of the nerve fibers within the spine that cause interference with the nerve transmission. Nerve interferences can also be detected on the body.
